My growing container garden. I started all the herbs from seed and they are beginning to poke up through the dirt. I recently received two tomatoes and a pepper by becoming an Urban Land Scout, the part art, part activist piece by my dear friend Katie Ries. I love the endurance that this piece requires. One of my missions is to grow these plants to bear fruit and then share this fruit with others. Then save the seeds. These are all things that I have/would/could do without the promise of a shiny embroidered badge, but by entering into this organization, I have a sense of obligation and responsibility at which I don’t want to fail.
